A ride on the Concorde was considered to be a luxurious experience, not unlike a stay at a five-star hotel. Indeed, it featured plush seating and dining areas, plus the speed with which you arrived at your destination added to the overall experience. Many said that the Concorde was the most graceful and beautiful airplane ride they had ever experienced.

The thrill started with take-off, which was actually more a lift-off, since it rose almost vertically off the ground. It was a smooth “lift-off,” though, even though it was quite loud.

On board, guests noted that there was frequently a party-like, festive atmosphere. It was common for passengers to be celebrating wedding anniversaries, birthdays, and other special events. The plane’s captain generally gave a commentary throughout the course of the flight, giving insightful information and facts about the Concorde.

As mentioned earlier, one of the chief selling points for the Concorde was the swiftness with which it got a passenger to its destination. As an example, it crossed the Atlantic Ocean in only three and a half hours, astoundingly five hours quicker than other aircraft at the time

During the 80’s Live Aid concert, musician Phil Collins, famously played at both the UK and US gigs on the same day, due to a quick Concorde trip.

It was fast enough that, thanks to the wonders of  time zones, one could arrive at his destination at a time “earlier” than when he departed. Many people, following their flight on the Concorde, remarked that a flight on any other plane seemed cramped and bumpy, like a bus ride in the sky compared to the Concorde.
